2010- Not going to be my year

I bought a new car a couple of weekends ago and two days later Toyota issued a recall of the car saying it's an out of control deathtrap (I think this whole Toyota thing has been blown a bit out of proportion- but it's still not great news). This was after I had just totalled my other car and all within the first month of 2010- which was clearly not going to be my best year. I was telling my co-worker about all this and she pointed out that maybe it was my 'bad luck' year according to the Chinese zodiac (she's from China) so we googled it.

Google did not help make me feel better. It turns out this is my bad year! I was born in the Year of the Tiger and 2010 is also the Year of the Tiger. Apparently, when it's your animal year again it's bad luck for you, something I did not know! Technically the Chinese New Year doesn't actually begin until mid-February but I've decided that it's just going to be all of 2010 so I am now preparing for 11 more months of bad happenings.

I was told by another co-worker that wearing red helps deflect the bad luck so I'm going to try that as well as crossing my fingers, throwing salt over my shoulder, getting a lucky rabbit foot and praying that my luck turns around! If the rest of the months follow January it will be an incredibly interesting year:)
